SURPRISE! I’m still here–reviving an old flame as I am considering my future. I’m not even going to give my typical explanation. Haha! Life is a crazy rollercoaster of experiences. I’ve still been attempting to write here and there, but haven’t been able to consider On The Write Track in a while. So, let me give you a “me” update first!

- My sister is getting married! YAAAYYYY! I’ll have to admit, this has been a HARD change. I’ve had my sister nearby all my life. We are really close, and have a great relationship. At the end of March, I lost her to Birmingham, Alabama, where her fiancé lives. This has been a big personal adjustment. I’ve flown down once over spring break, she came up here for her wedding shower, and I will see her again in just a couple weeks for her bachelorette. (Which is going to be so much fun! Hehe) I’m considering writing a blog post soon to help those of you who also have experienced losing a close friend/ family member to distance.
- Work is a crazy world. I am currently a substitute teacher while getting my Bachelor’s degree. I love it–truly! I love working with the kids and building relationships. As a building sub, I get the unique experience of working in the same building every week on a set schedule. While I have greatly enjoyed my position, it’s led me to question where I want to end up. Originally, I had planned on Early Childhood and settling in a kindergarten classroom. Lately however, I have begun to consider a few other options while still working with kids. Careers are so hard! The stigma is to pick something and stick with it your whole life, and while I know that is not required, the bills still have to be paid, and I would like to enjoy my work and have time to do the things I love. While I originally thought otherwise, teaching isn’t very flexible. I’ve considered moving and seeing new places, but I’m very attached to my friends and family.
- College! The place you pay to work so you can work and get paid. I had to take the spring semester off. Mainly because I refuse to get a loan currently and I am paying my own way through college. It isn’t cheap. I’m glad for the break though, as I mentioned earlier I am reconsidering my degree plan. Maybe I am just a different sort of human but I have changed my degree plan, or considered changing it time after time, after time. I have my associates, but that pesky bachelor’s just seems so elusive. That’s something I’ll have to keep you updated on–who knows where I’ll end up!

Now that we’ve caught up a little bit, let me ask y’all a few questions! Do you like this life update style blog? Would you be interested in a “How I Cope With Change” post? Do you want more from “Rescue Me”? What writing advice or pieces would you like to see from an author standpoint? Would you like a post with my personal struggles and stances on mental health? Let me know! I’m eager to see what y’all want! Until next time!
